Getting spammed with all the memes and wise-cracks on how 2020 is finally getting over makes me wistful. And as I look back at the year gone by, I cannot but appreciate all the things I learnt in 2020.. While friends posted pics of happy families spending time bonding at home, I brushed up on my Excel skills to plan elaborate schedules of TV-times and Netflix arrangements for the kids and the man-of-the-house. When these schedules helped preserve the sanity in the household and stop the endless remote fights, I got the satisfaction I had never got even when I created complex Financial Models for my clients! 2020 also brought in a true 20/20 vision… Be it Elder Relatives or old friends or long forgotten Passions – all things long pushed away now came into sight for coming years. Ask a mother which child she loves the most, and it will not be the one who’s the super- achiever champ, but the one who wet the bed the longest, was the weakest of the lot and sapped the most of her energies. It’s that one on whom she showers the most affection. Somewhat on similar lines, I look back at 2020 with affection – as a year that demanded a lot from me and yet taught me so much more in return! Is it getting over too soon?? Prajakta Shetye-Deo Pune /18.12.2020
